Anne W. Burrell is a American TV personality who is a chef, and a ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell hosts on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals an easy and straightforward cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell was employed at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine practices and the environment. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking at an early age. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary traditions. It had a significant influence on her perception of food. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to enhance the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher Burrell travels throughout the U.S. to share her culinary passion and profession. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
