Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television host in America and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-learn techniques for the at-home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine practices and the geography. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a youngster, living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing learning experience for me. It was hard to study, do or work enough. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. During her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophies behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that left a lasting impact in her point of view. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance the lives of children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. She is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and travels across the nation in her mentorship task. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate in that she could communicate her love of cooking to the people around her.
